Guacamole

Guacamole seems like one of those foods that people either love or hate. It makes a great dip for tortilla chips. When served on the side it cools off a spicy Mexican dish. It makes a delicious creamy topping on a burger or chicken sandwich. And it’s very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Ripe Avocadoes, peeled and pits removed
  • 2 T Diced red onion
  • 2 Cloves chopped garlic
  • 2 T diced jalapeno pepper
  • ¼ C Chopped fresh cilantro
  • ½ Tsp Kosher salt
  • Dash of Hot sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime

Simply combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mash together with the back of a fork or a potato masher to desired consistency.  Serve immediately or refrigerate and use within 2-3 days.

QUICK TIP! The key to keeping guacamole fresh is to store by covering with plastic wrap and pressing the wrap firmly to the surface of the guacamole to prevent any air from touching it.
